Dissecting instruments for transsphenoidal neurosurgery are held in a V. Mueller rack case, the front rail engraved 1 through 20. Most of the shafts step sideways into a bayonet offset. That offset keeps the handle out of the surgeon's line of sight. Working ends include open ring curettes and cup-shaped enucleators. Others are right-angle and curved hooks, flat spatula dissectors and blunt round tips.
