This lumbar Kerrison rongeur cuts bone and disc tissue in open spinal surgery. The shank is marked Codman 52, 53-1627LED and DETACHABLE. Gold plating covers the handles and the footplate tip, and an ejector rod runs along the shaft. It takes a 3 mm bite at 40 degrees up and measures 8 in (203 mm).
