This Synthes backup wire tensioner, catalog number 393.743, is a reusable hand instrument for orthopedic surgery. The Synthes logo and 393.743 are engraved on its tubular barrel. One end has a notched tip with a cross hole, and the other end is hexagonal. A long slot runs along the side of the barrel, and a block with a through-hole stands on a post above it.
