On a laparoscopic grasper, atraumatic jaws usually have fine serrations or dull ends, fenestrated jaws have an open window and claw jaws have teeth. A Karl Storz catalog lists atraumatic grasping options apart from toothed grasping options. The graspers it labels atraumatic include jaws with fine serrations and hollow jaws. Some are also fenestrated, so a single title can read atraumatic fenestrated grasper. In the toothed group, the claw option is listed with 2 x 3 teeth. That group also lists a jaw with multiple teeth for atraumatic grasping. The catalog also gives operating room nicknames, such as Tiger jaws for its 2 x 4 toothed insert.
