An arthroscope sheath is the outer tube the arthroscope locks into, and an obturator is the insert that sits inside it. Karl Storz lists its arthroscope sheaths by outer diameter, working length and number of stopcocks. The stopcocks may be rotating or fixed. One Storz sheath has a tapered tip with irrigation holes.
